Free One Dollar Just to Visit Website

0

Yes, you read it right. Just visit the website and you will receive a one dollar discount when you purchase food from Del Taco.

I visited Del Taco fast food near my home and ordered a combo meal consisting of two chicken soft tacos, small French fries, and small soft drink for $4.99 plus a sales tax of 8.1%, for a total of US$5.39. While waiting for my order, which took about 10 minutes or so, I read the Del Taco receipt. There was an offer which said the following:

FREE DEL TACO FOOD
Tell us about your visit and receive your CHOICE OF ONE of the following on your next visit to THIS Del Taco:

FREE GRILLED CHICKEN TACO (#102) with any purchase of $3 or more
OR
FREE ½ lb BEAN & CHEESE BURRITO (#103) with any purchase of $3 or more
OR
$1 OFF any purchase of $3 or more (#104)

2 EASY STEPS
Visit myvisit.deltaco.com within 72 hours and enter the following code: 362 280 000 120 011
Take the quick survey and write the validation code below:
____________________

I was curious about the above offer. So, I visited the www.myvisit.deltaco.com within 72 hours from my dine-in Del Taco purchase. The following questions were asked in the survey:
  • On this visit, did you dine-in, drive-thru, or go inside and place your order to-go?
  • Was this either your first visit to Del Taco, or your first visit in 6 months or more?
  • In the past 30 days, how frequently have you visited this Del Taco location?
  • In the past 30 days, how many times have you visited ANY fast food restaurant?
  • Overall, how satisfied were you with this visit to Del Taco?
  • How satisfied were you with the value you received for the money you paid?
  • How satisfied were you with the price competitiveness of your purchase?
  • Overall, how satisfied were you with your service experience during your visit?
  • Was your order correct?

After answering the survey questions, the following message and instructions were displayed on the web page:

Thank you for your feedback.
Please write the validation code in the space provided in your receipt and bring it with you for the next visit to this Del Taco restaurant:
021377910

So I copied the numbers 021377910 into my Del Taco receipt. There is a 60-day expiration date from the date of the receipt. That means, I can go to the same Del Taco location in about one week, two or three weeks, or even in 55 days and use the validation code to get discount for my next Del Taco order.

The visit to the Del Taco website to answer the survey did not ask for my personal information nor my email address. And I was happy for that because Del Taco is not gathering personal information.

If I order a Del Taco food for $3 and give my validation code, I will be given a one dollar ($1) discount, thus I will just pay $2 plus sales tax. A $1 discount from $3 purchase represents a 33% discount. You can imagine if you are three in the family that have different validation codes and receive a combine of $3 discounts.

So, if you purchase fast food from Del Taco, do not throw away the receipts. Visit the Del Taco website, answer the survey, receive a validation code, and you will receive discounts from your Del Taco purchases.

Happy Eating!

Google Adsense – How to Make More Money

0

Keyword Tool
Google Adsense, being promoted by Google, is one way to make more money by putting up to three (3) ads on every page of your blog article. To make more money, you should implement one method: choose high-ranking keywords in your blog title and in the first two paragraphs of your blog article.

How will you know that the words you selected are high-ranking keywords? Do the following steps:
  • Sign up with Google Adwords.
  • Click on Tools and Analysis, then on Keyword Planner Tool.
  • Click on Get Search Volume for a List of Keywords or Group Them into Ad Groups.
  • Type the words you want to use, either one word or group of words per line inside the box or a series of individual words or group of words in one line separated by a comma.

By following the above steps, I drafted the following titles for this blog:

1.  First Title: How to Increase Google Adsense Income

2.  Second Title: Google Adsense – How to Make More Money

When I typed each word on the search box, the average monthly search was displayed:

For the First Title
how – 550,000
to – 673,000
increase – 40,500
Google – 755,000,000
adsense – 1,830,000
income – 33,100

For the Second Title
Google – 755,000,000
adsense – 1,830,000
how – 550,000
to – 673,000
make – 135,000
more – 368,000
money – 823,000

Based on the average monthly search,I chose the second title: Google Adsense – How to Make More Money as the title for this blog. And then, I scattered some of the keywords in my first paragraph.

Of course, using high-ranking keywords is one of the methods being used in improving SEO (search engine optimization). Other methods are blog/website linkings, comments from readers, number of visits, age of blog/website (more than 6 months), and others.

If you want to create your own blog or website, you should use the free Google Keyword Planner Tool to make your blog or website friendly to various search engines. If your blog or website has so many web pages and visitors, there is a big chance that your visitors will click on your ads and visit ad sponsor's website. Whether the visitor buys from the sponsor or not, somehow you will receive some passive income from the clicked ads.

Come on, now. Start your own blog. Join and sign up with Blogger.com with no charge and obligations, and learn how to create a blog until you decide to design your free blog according to your ideas.

Also join and use the free Google Keyword Planner Tool using your same Blogger.com user ID and password. Later, you will realize that your income from Google Adsense ads is growing little by little.

Good luck!

KFC Fast Food Coupons to Save Money

0

KFCFriedChicken
I love to eat KFC fried and grilled chicken. I usually visit the KFC fast food near my home 2 or 3 times a month.

Before I just wait for some unsolicited KFC coupons that arrived with my junk mail every Wednesday. Sometimes, there were no KFC coupons. When there were no KFC coupons, I just pay the full price of the meal plus a sales tax of 8.1%.

I was reading the Yahoo news on October 1, 2013 and there was a news article that KFC is offering a KFC Go Cup for US$2.49 plus sales tax. So, I visited the KFC website         (http://www.kfc.com) and find out the nutrition information on the KFC Go Cup.

By accident, I clicked on DEALS (http://www.kfc.com/deals) and what I have discovered – digital coupons that I can print using my printer. The web page asked me to enter my ZIP code (example: 94205) and one sheet showed me six (6) coupons as follows:

1.  $1 OFF – 2 pieces Original Recipe Boneless with 1 individual side (e.g. potato wedges, cole slaw, biscuit, macaroni salad, etc.) and 1 medium soft drink

2.  FREE Original Recipe Boneless piece with the purchase of an 8-piece meal or larger meal at the regular price

3.  FREE Lil' Bucket Kid's Meal with the purchase of an 8-piece meal or larger meal at the regular price

4.  $4.99 for 10-Piece Original Recipe Bites with individual potato wedges and 1 medium soft drink

5.  $0.50 Each – Add Hot Wings pieces to any bucket (limit 20) purchase

6.  $2.99 for 2-piece Grilled Chicken with 1 baked biscuit

The coupons have expiration date of 11/30/2013. When the coupons expired, I can visit the KFC website if I need some current KFC coupons before I go to the KFC fast food. In case I receive unsolicited KFC coupons from my junk mail, then I do not have to print the KFC digital coupons.

So, for every one dollar I save from each KFC coupon is an increase of money in my savings account.

If I combined my savings from my grocery coupons, borrowing free books and DVD movies from the public library, buying things from thrift stores, and maintaining my 1990 Dodge Stratus car in good running condition, then I can imagine the inflows of money to my savings account.

I want to share my financial experience with my readers. I am not a tightwad. I just want to minimize my expenses without depriving myself with some amenities in life.

Love your Heart for Less Money

0

LifeLineScreenings
You may ask: How can I love my heart for less money? There is one way that you can protect your heart by spending a total of US$139.00 for five different screening tests even without medical insurance coverage. If you will request your doctor to order for the five tests, it will cost you more than US$350.00.

Life Line Screening offers the following services, without referral from any doctor:
  • 1.  Stroke/Carotid Artery Screening. An ultrasound scanning of your carotid arteries that will show the buildup of fatty plaque. This screening is recommended because over 145,000 people died from strokes last year and 80% of them had not experienced any apparent symptoms.
  • 2.  Hearth Rhythm Screening (Atrial Fibrillation). A quick test where EKG electrodes are attached to your arms and legs to determine the presence or absence of an irregular heartbeat. This screening is recommended because atrial fibrillation increases the risk of heart stroke 5 times as you age. If you are a smoker, you are at a much higher risk.
  • 3.  Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening. An ultrasound scanning for your abdominal aneurysm if it is becoming larger in normal size that could result to ruptured aorta.
  • 4.  Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening. This test will show if the narrowing of blood vessels in your legs is caused by the buildup of fatty plaque. Too much fatty plaque is a strong predictor of heart disease.
  • 5.  Osteoporosis Risk Assessment. An ultrasound scanning of your heel for bone mass density. Your osteoporosis risk increases with age.

Who needs to buy the five different screening tests? It is recommended that all men and women who are 55 years or older. The reason: The National Stroke Association found that the risk of stroke doubles each decade after age 55.

How long does the screening take? The five screening tests generally take about one hour. You do not have to fast for 12 hours. You do not have to change your clothes at the screening room.

Will your medical insurance provider cover these screenings? No, if you do not show any symptoms. Heart strokes and other cardiovascular diseases usually do not show any symptoms until they become serious.

How can you avail of the screening tests? You may call Life Line Screening at 1-800-679-5197 (toll-free) and schedule the tests in your town or city. Do not postpone the tests. You may regret later on. Your life is very valuable.

Some people who undergone the regular screenings have saved their lives and may be able to live longer for less money they spent for the screenings.

One person from Mansfield, Ohio said “During my screening, it was discovered that I had a large aneurysm in my abdominal aorta that my doctor did not discover.”

From Waterloo, Iowa: “There is a huge history of vessel and heart disease in my family. I am so thankful it was discovered before I had a major stroke.”

If you and your family members are 55 years old or older, you should take all the screening tests for about $139.00. Regular screenings can help you live a fuller, healthier, and longer life for less money.

Note: I am not connected with Life Line Screening and I do not receive any commissions for endorsing the screening tests to my blog readers. I just want to share that I also participate in these screenings so that I can have peace of mind.

Las Vegas Newspaper Carrier Job

0

Add-Newspaper Carrier
A friend of mine related to me his experience as a Las Vegas Newspaper Carrier when we met in a StarBucks Coffee shop one Sunday afternoon. Let's call my friend as Jimmy (not his real name).

While reading a newspaper, he saw a classified ad that a Las Vegas newspaper company needed independent contractors to deliver newspapers to residential subscribers within a particular area. The ad said:

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS NEEDED
MAKE MONEY
Before You Get to Work
Great Business Opportunity

Could you use an extra $700 to $1,000 each month working 3 to 4 hours a day?

All routes to be delivered from 2 a.m.-6 a.m. Monday to Friday, from 1 a.m.-7 a.m. Saturday to Sunday

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A ROUTE YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER AND YOU MUST BRING:

Valid Nevada Driver's License, Valid Nevada Vehicle Insurance, Current Nevada DMV Printout, Social Security Card, Bank Account for Direct Deposit, Reliable Vehicle

So, Jimmy applied for the part-time newspaper job one Monday morning. He was assigned a route near his home. At 11:30 p.m. of the same Monday, he reported to the newspaper distribution center to fill out some additional documents. The newspaper supervisor explained to Jimmy that as an Independent Contractor, he was responsible to:
  • Hire his own newspaper carrier if he is not available;
  • Provide a backup vehicle in case the other vehicle have problems;
  • Strictly follow the requests or instructions of newspaper subscribers such as placing the newspaper in front of the main door;
  • Pay for supplies such as plastic envelopes and rubber bands;
  • Pay $2.00 to the newspaper company for every missed newspaper delivery; and
  • Deliver all newspapers between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday to Friday and between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. from Saturday to Sunday.

For Jimmy's services as Independent Contractor, he was paid $0.15 for each newspaper delivered in his route. His route had 200 newspaper subscribers. His daily net service fee was computed as follows:
  • Add: $30.00 – Gross fee (200 newspapers x $0.15 per newspaper delivered)
  • Less: $ 1.75 – for plastic envelope and/or rubber bands
  • Less: $10.20 – for gasoline actually used in delivering newspapers

Net service fee per day - $18.05 for approximately 3 hours of work (or $6.02 per hour).

(Note: The U.S. Federal minimum wage was $7.25 per hour. Jimmy was using a 2001 Toyota Corolla and the depreciation expense was not included in the computation of his net service fee.)

Jimmy's net service fee per month was $549.02 or $6,588.25 per year.

At the end of the year, Jimmy paid for his U.S. Federal income tax (no State income tax in Nevada) based on the following computations:
  • Add:   $6,588.25 - Annual net service fee
  • Less:  $   197.65 – Federal income tax rate of 3%
  • Less:  $   988.24 – Employer and Employee Social Security and Medicare tax of 15%

$5,402.36 – Annual net service fee after taxes

After one year of working part-time as an Independent Newspaper Carrier/Contractor, Jimmy resigned from the job. He complained that he has no day off and had problems when it was raining while delivering newspapers.

Free Office Software and Save Money

0

OpenOffice.org Logo
Get free OpenOffice Productivity Suite software and pay NO money. No kidding. No need to buy Microsoft Office software which cost about US$399.99 (plus sales tax) from physical computer stores. If you download the Microsoft Office software from Amazon, you will pay US$219.99.

In 2003, I purchased the Microsoft Office Home and Business 2003 software from Las Vegas Office Depot. If I remember right, I paid US$209.99 (plus 6% sales tax). In 2007, I bought the Microsoft Office Home and Business 2007 software from Las Vegas OfficeMax for US$299.99 (plus 7% sales tax). If I'm going to buy Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013, I have to pay US$399.99 (plus 8.1% sales tax) to either Las Vegas Office Depot or OfficeMax.

It was good that in 2009 or 2010, OpenOffice Productivity Suite version 3 was available and I downloaded it to my desktop computer. I downloaded the same software to a laptop computer which I gave as a gift to my niece who was studying in high school.

By using the OpenOffice Productivity Suite, I was able to save substantial money by not buying the Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 and Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013.

On September 28, 2013, I visited the OpenOffice.org website and I downloaded the new OpenOffice Productivity Suite version 4. The new version has a sidebar of menus on the right of the computer screen. The software downloading to my laptop computer took about 18 minutes.

What can you find in the OpenOffice Productivity Suite?

Why I Choose Blogger

0

I searched the Internet to read the different features of the following blogging software:
  • Apache Roller
  • Blog CFC
  • Blogger
  • Blogster
  • Biosxom
  • Buddy Press
  • Chyrp
  • Croogo
  • Dotclear
  • Dreamwith
  • Drupal
  • Easy Blog
  • Elgg
  • Geeklog
  • Greymatter
  • Habari
  • Injader
  • Joomla
  • LifeType
  • LiveJournal
  • LoudBlog
  • MacJournal
  • Mango Blog
  • Mars Edit
  • Movable Type
  • Nucleus CMS
  • Odiogo
  • OverBlog
  • PivotX
  • PixelPost
  • QuickBlog
  • sBlog
  • Serendipity
  • StupidFilter
  • Sweetcom
  • Thingamablog
  • TypePad
  • Typo3
  • uCoz
  • WordPress
  • Yahoo360°

I noticed that a majority of blog owners used WordPress blogging software. WordPress has a PAID version (where ads can be inserted in blog articles) and FREE version (no ads can be placed in blog pages).

For the main purpose of generating income with no monthly fees, I prefer the Blogger software (owned by Google) for the following reasons:
  • Insert any Google and non-Google ads without paying monthly hosting fees. I can easily place up to three (3) Google ads in each of my blog article and any number of ads from other websites like Amazon, GoDaddy, Blue Host, Commission Junction, and many others to monetize my blog for free.
  • More exposure to more devices. All Blogger blogs, with dynamic view templates, are automatically searched and displayed in all desktops, laptops, and mobile devices with Internet connection. The more devices, the more chances that ads can be clicked by people, thus increasing my income. Non-Blogger blogs are not automatically displayed in mobile devices, thus limiting their exposure to computers only.
  • Optimize the search capability of Blogger blogs. With my Blogger user ID and password, I can use the Google Webmaster Tool that automatically analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of my Google ads in terms of ad sizes, colors, and placement in all my blog articles. Google will also advice me on how to optimize the search effectiveness of my blog in terms of keywords density, original article contents, linking, commenting, and others. If I can improve the SEO of my blog, the more people can see my blog and more chances that my readers will click on my ads.
  • More blog language translations. Blogger blogs can be translated to about 41 languages such as Arabic, Bengali, Indonesia, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Malayalam, Marathi, Norwegian, Oriya, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese. Nepali, Farashi. As such, more people can read my blog and click on my ads.
  • Blogger provides support through its online discussion forum. I can visit the forum and browse some of the solutions to my blog problems like how to maximize blog income and improve the searchability of my blog. If there are no solutions, I can submit my questions to the discussion forum and Blogger users can give me the answers. The discussion forum is being monitored by Google staff to see to it that information is correct and does not violate the Google policies.

I know that there are some disadvantages in using Blogger software. For now, I can use the software and pay no monthly hosting and annual domain name registration fees. Anyway, I can make changes to my Blogger blog later on.

If you have some ideas on the pros and cons in using Blogger software, please leave me some notes below. Thank you.

Why I Created MakeMoney7 Blog

0

I created this blog when my money was dwindling little by little. Although I have a part-time job, my monthly take-home pay leaves only a few savings which I deposit in my savings account.

I searched the Internet for some information on how to earn additional income. I have read that some bloggers made some money in maintaining their blogs on a part-time basis. Some bloggers were working full-time on their blogs and earning substantial income.

After giving thoughts on blogging for one week, I decided to start my own blog for the following reasons:
  • To earn some money. By creating relevant blog articles, I may earn some money by putting some ads in all my articles. I know from the beginning that it will take about 6 months, one year, or more to generate income from ads. I strongly believe that I will be getting to the point in time that I will realize some money through blogging. I am hoping that 5 years from now, I will also be a full-time blogger and earning more money than my present part-time job.
  • To spend my idle time to become productive. Since I spent a lot of time in front of my TV, I asked myself: why don't I create a blog and discuss my thoughts and ideas about my own personal and business experience related to money and other financial matters. By doing so, I may be able to help my blog readers and they, in turn, may give me some financial and moral advice.
  • To “exercise” my brain and mind. I have read some medical articles that we should “exercise” our brain by solving some puzzles, reading books, socializing with other people, etc. to avoid dementia or Alzheimer disease. If I will be writing blog articles, I will be forced to read written materials, think of proper words to impart my ideas to my blog readers, and at the same time to socialize with my blog readers by saying “hello” and exchanging our ideas through my blog and email.
  • To keep abreast of the latest technology. I want to learn about new technological products and services that are being introduced everyday. For example, if a new version of iPod or Windows 8 is introduced, I can search the Internet, read about the new product, and discuss it in my blog. In this way, I will be hitting “two birds in one stone”, so to speak, meaning I was able to learn the new product and at the same time, I can impart the new product information to my blog readers.
  • To maximize the use of my computer system without incurring additional expenses. Before I started blogging, I use my computer system and Internet connection at least one hour a day just to read my emails, if any, and browsing some online news that may interest me. After creating the MakeMoney7 Blog, I spend almost 5 hours a day in front of my computer when I do not have work. I visit several blogs related to my blog topics, read articles on new products and services, and write my blog articles. I pay the same monthly Internet connection fee but with increased usage that may result to higher monetary benefits.

If you like this article, please leave me some comments or advice. Please come back for more interesting ideas. Thank you.
